The Prus family from Krmačina near Metlika received 2 champion awards and 13 grand gold medals
At the Agra–Agricultural Food Fair in Gornja Radgona, on the day dedicated to wine growers and oenologists, Jožef Prus from Krmačina near Metlika was announced the best Slovenian winemaker of the year, receiving the title for the third time in a row.
The Prus Wine Cellar, which has by now received numerous flattering recognitions for the quality of their wines both in Slovenia as abroad, this year presented 36 wine samples at the Gornja Radgona fair show and received 13 grand gold and 11 gold medals.
As Jožef said, being given the title of the winemaker of the year again is a major promotion for the municipality of Metlika, Bela krajina, the wine-growing country Posavje and, of course, a recognition for his family. He also adds that a competitive spirit is important among wine growers, and a healthy competition is always welcome.
